Brag away!
I finished the Platform Building lessons and have done A Cover That Sells. I have changed my web site, made a landing page and looked into autoresponders but haven’t purchased one yet.
Way to go, Larada! You’re on FIRE!
Do share your cover in the cover lesson 🙂
I’m in the position with my very first book(s) so the order of some of the activities gets modified. ie because I don’t yet have any mailing list subscribers, or launch team subscribers so I can’t mail them before publishing and launching.
But things are still going well. My perma-freebie short story is now on Amazon, Nook, Kobo and iBooks. Even with no launch and no publicity whatsoever, it got nearly 100 downloads across all sellers in the first week. No reviews, but I guess that’s not surprising, but amazingly I got one totally unsolicited 4star rating on Goodreads – yay!
Now my first main novel is on Amazon Pre-order and will go to KDP Select/KU in two weeks time. I’m just leaving that buffer in case I can giveaway some copies for reviews before it goes exclusive. And I will setup a paperback version once I have wrestled with reformatting it for print.
For launch and publicity I am doing two group campaigns. First a cross-genre promotion on Bookhub in May, and second a specific Instafreebie author group Erotic Romance promotion in early May. So the timing has worked well for me. I will add my own personal *tiny* social media blast, But really I want to see how effective the group promos are for getting my very first subscribers.
I still need reviews but I will work on that once I have at least a few people on a mailing list! Also when my main book is available I can approach the ‘review’ blogs and forums. As I said before, I don’t realistically expect too much for my very first couple of books!
Sorry for the massive post! And… Good Luck to everyone else!
Excellent, AJ! That’s a great plan! I recently participated in a group giveaway – last minute, 5 min work – and I increased my list by 600 people! And yes, it was promoted by Instafreebie. A lot depends on how the authors participating promote and how big their following is. Do report on your results 🙂
